^ Lily's Christmas Concert!

We've been super busy lately, which is why I haven't updated. Lily's had her Christmas Concert at school, they did a great job! She's testing at a first grade reading level, so she has special homework everyday now. Smartie pants. I actually just got all of the information about Kindergarten yesterday.. can't believe she's going to be riding the big girl bus next year and going to school all day! What happened to my baby!

Yesterday she had a Princess Playdate with her friends Amelia and Mae, she had a blast! This morning though, she has a cold. :( Perfect timing for Christmas. Broke out the homeopathic stuff and hopefully she'll feel better soon!

Logan is doing SUCH an amazing job talking! He no longer needs Birth to Three's speech help! YAY! He says everything, such a goofball. Last night he was playing hide and seek with Grandpa Mike and saying "Bapa you hide now!" 4 word sentences! Then he's count to ten! I LOVE hearing his little voice!! Here's some pictures of him, making Snow Angels on the porch. :)

Lily turned FIVE this month. Wow. Such a big girl!!

The picture at the table with the three kids, the little boy is the one she likes. So funny. Her first crush. :) And the picture by the door is her and her best friend Amelia!

I've been so busy with getting ready for Christmas. Tomorrow is Christmas Eve and I still have LOADS to wrap! I'm sending the kids to their grandpas house so hopefully I can get it all done by tomorrow night!

OH! AND!! Late last night Mark and I were laying in bed talking, all of a sudden our doorknob starts wiggling. Creepy! (Keep in mind I have been watching Zombie TV shows...) Mark says it must be the boogie man. Of course I think it's Logan, so I call out. "Logan?" nothing. Doorknob does it again. "Logie?" Nothing. So I get up the courage and turn on the light and open the door. Sure enough there is Logan. He looks at me and holds out his finger. "Boogie?" Sure enough the worlds largest booger. Mark was right, it was the boogie man with a hand delivery. :)

So Logan called Lily "YeeYee" and he says "Mommy" and he says "I do" and "Me do" and..... "I yuv you!" <3 He's the cutest puppy EVER!

Spent last night at Mom's house and am having a very lazy morning now that i'm home, waiting for the coffee. Kids are messing up the house but are having a blast dressing a HUGE stuffed ape in winter clothes. :) Dad will be over soon to spend some time with the squids and Jen is coming home with Mark! All I have to do is clean up and make dinner and RELAX! Love lazy weekends!

Halloween week! I've been sick for seriously 3 weeks now, sucks. My ovary exploded which is always cool, then have the worst cold/flu thing ever. BUT somehow managed to do fun Halloween things with kids.

Jen + Lily made Halloween Haunted Houses

Tonight we're driving up to Mark's mom's house for a halloween party. (only a 2 hour drive.. ugh) and then Monday Lily has a party at school and then we go trick or treating! Fun! :) Off to carve Pumpkins now!

Tuesday, October 18, 2011

Monday morning Mussy woke up and did NOT want to go to school.

“I don’t like Monday’s.”

“Most people don’t honey.”

“Well, if most people don’t like Monday’s they should get rid of them then!”

Good point. I almost went into the whole, if we get rid of Monday’s then Tuesday’s would be Monday’s.. but I stopped myself. She’s four and as parents of four years olds know, she’d win the argument.

When I picked her up from school she said. “Mom, did you know tomorrow is Tuesday?”

“Is it really?” (I can’t know everything!)

“I don’t like Tuesday’s.”

Oh, here we go again!

Now, I would like to take a moment here to discuss Logan. He has a ‘speech delay’. What does that mean exactly? It means his speech is that of an 18 month old, instead of a 27 month old. It means he has a speech therapist come once a week to work with him. It means that Mommy has spent countless nights worrying about her son, and Mommy did so much research on the internet that she had words like ‘autism’ and ‘mental retardation’ and ‘dyslexia’ haunting her day and night. It means that every family member and friend had to hear over and over again about how he wasn’t talking and how they all said “He’ll be fine.” It meant my poor boyfriend had to listen to me cry about him and worry.

I started noticing that he might be behind when he was almost two, and he was only saying “Mama” and “Dada.” His doctor said he should know 30 words and be making 2 word combinations by then. He wasn’t. We had been evaluated by a group of people from our county’s Birth to 3 program. He tested at or above his age group in every level except speech. However they were still talking about putting him in the early learning program at the school. What if he got made fun of in school? What if he couldn’t do his homework? What if he never learned to talk? and the biggest thing; What if something was wrong with his brain?

I probably spent six months or more worrying about him. The speech therapists were saying that there was nothing wrong with his brain, he is just a late talker. But no matter how many times they told me that it didn’t help my worrying. And then last week he said something new. He said “I do.” Nothing big but he put two words together, and he wanted to do something so he said “I do.” as in I do it! Then an hour later he said “Mah gah?” as in milk gone. Was I imagining things? Nope because he said “Adah gah?” Grandpa gone!

This week he’s saying “Blah boo!” Block blue and “Mama, Mohr Mah!” More milk. And he JUST said “Bee buzz Mama!”

Now, most two year olds would say things a bit more clearly, but my son is not most 2 year olds. He’s Bubbers and he’ll do things at his own pace and I need to not worry so much. He is a fabulous little boy. Once I finally got over my fretting I was able to see all of the things he CAN do. He knows his colors, he can build towers, he can do puzzles, he laughs when he makes jokes, he is worried when someone else gets hurt. He makes eye contact, he gets excited about things, he cuddles, he cries, he loves. He’s going to be fine and no matter what I LOVE HIM!

Logan is running around playing "Guck, guck, goo" (duck duck goose)

Lily doesn't care that I drop her off at school anymore, walks me to the door and says "Bye." Hmpfh! I've been replaced by friends already! haha, that's so good though, she's loving school. Had to draw her favorite foods and most kid drew pizza but Lily drew steak with salad and 'salad sauce'. Cuteness.

Fall is here! What? It was in the 30's this morning.

So in love with my family! <3

First Week of School!

So Lily had her first week of school! She did such an amazing job!! She likes school and made lots of little friends already. Has her own little cubby with her picture on it. Her classroom job is to do the weather everyday, which she thinks is pretty awesome. :) Her teacher is really good too and sends home detailed notes everyday which I appreciate.

Been a while!

Had an AWESOME vacation! Drove to Montana, saw Glacier Ntl Park, then to Yellowstone Ntl Park, then the badlands, Needles Hwy, Mt. Rushmore and black hills, of course Wall Drug haha, then home! Such a fabulous time! Lovin' me some Mark!

So last night was funny, I was having a lot of trouble falling asleep. Have a cyst right now so it's painful.. anyway so I FINALLY fell asleep and I was having a dream that I was in bed and there was a snake on Mark and so we were laying really still so it would slither off of him... i know i know but it was a dream, so it got down by his foot and then went under the covers and I felt it touch my foot so I freaked out and curled up into a ball. Ok so this morning Mark called and I told him about my dream and he started laughing and said he was going to ask cuz he moved and his toe touched my foot and then I like freaked out and rolled up into a tiny ball, and he was like WTF? HAHAHHA his toe touched me right when the "snake" did. LOL i was so confused in my sleep, cuz I knew it was a dream, but I KNEW i felt something. Weirdness!

Ok, well anyways! Lily-bits starts school on Tuesday! Eeek!!

Road Trip!

We leave today on our great adventure road trip!

It's such a nice rainy morning and I'd like to sleep all morning, but I have to finish packing, bathe the kids, give Logan an early nap and then pack up the van and go get Jennifer and drive 3 hrs to Mark's moms house and he will meet us there later. Then tomorrow Mark and I leave to go out west! :-)

So excited!

Lily- "excuse me Mom, I'm stuck in my clothes. You're going to have to cut my arms off to get me out"

Going to the Grocery Store With a 2 Year old and a 4 year old

Goes about like this.

"Ok Logie, time to get your shoes on!"
"Uh-uh!" Shakes his head.
"Come on buddy, we have to go get groceries!" (in my most exciting voice! Grocery store is fun!... right?)
"Uh-UHHHH!!" Shakes his head harder.
"Logie want milk?" That's right, I lapse into toddler-ease speak (non parents? google it).
"Uh-huh!" He's excited about this, MILK!!
"Logie want milk? We have to go buy milk!" Show him the empty container.
"Uh-huh!!" Still excited about this. Success!!
"Ok, Logie want milk? We have to go get milk! Let's get your shoes on!"
"UH-UH!!!!!" Runs away.

... fast forward 20 minutes....

Finally have his shoes on, carry him down the stairs because he's too stubborn to walk.. buckle him in after he climbs in the van himself (takes about 5 minutes). Buckled in, Lily's buckled in (after carefully buckling in her toy cat...)

Ride to the grocery store is uneventful, thank you Curious George DVD.

Get there and have more negotiations about getting OUT of the van, who's getting out which door, who gets to push the button to close the door... who holds WHICH of mommy's hands.... get into the store and there are the carts. Now, I will say that when Lily was Logan's age (before I had Logan) I would let her walk beside me if she wanted to, didn't insist on her riding in the cart. Then Logan was born and there's no way I can keep track of both of them if they're running wild. (I'll say this for Lily, she is VERY well behaved in a store, but Logan would go off in every direction) So, Logan MUST ride in the cart. BUT the grocery store doesn't know this, so there's the line up of carts with the car thing on the front that the kids can ride in. That's fun for about 20 seconds until they want to get in and out and in and out everytime you stop, and argue over who gets to steer, and the thing takes up the whole isle. Anyway then they have the little kid size carts, which would be fine if I just had one kid, but I have two. So of course we would need two, and Mommy would end up bending over to steer them both. Not happening. So we go for the normal carts and have to negotiate with Logan again to get him to sit in it. (again back to the "you want milk?" thing. Which works, eventually..

So we go through the fruit and veggie section with no problems. Logan points out produce and Lily talks about how much she likes Brussels sprouts... weird. No major events in the meat section, canned goods is fine... then it's the cereal isle. Of course the cereal isle also has gummy treats.. and they have TV characters on them. "DORA!!" "SPONGEBOB!" "PHINEUS AND FERB!!!" "ELMOOOO" or "AGHAAAA" as my son calls him. Ok moving on. Then the cake section! EXCITING we get to buy cake mix for Mark's birthday! arugment over who gets to hold the cake mix and who gets to hold the frosting. One for each and we have to keep switching them. Milk section is Logan's favorite. He hugs the milk containers before I put them below and then he shivers. What can I say? My son is strange. Chip section, frozen foods.. frozen foods has ice cream. Lily spends about 5 minutes deciding what to get. Logan gets antsy. Almost done.

Get to the check out and of course there's lines. Entertain them by playing I spy. Then when it's our turn of course they BOTH want to help put hte stuff on the conveyer belt. Takes forever and I can feel stares from the snobby looking Barbie doll woman behind me. Whatever.... then in order to get the groceries to the car I have to leave Logan in the cart, or else he'll run one way, cart will go another and Lily will go a 3rd... so he starts screaming until we're out into the parking lot. 2 year old want their way!

So fast forward again, again with the van drama, and the going up the stairs drama then they want to eat the food we just bought the second we're in the door and are under my feet while I'm trying to put it all away.... goodness gracious!

And the reason I am writing this all down is because it IS amusing, and I love my kids dearly and someday I can read this to them. (And they're quietly pounding things on the coffee table right now, giving me a few seconds alone.)

:) The end!
OW!

Way to go me... u know, running I wear shoes... being a dork and playing kinect? Oh yeah, no shoes.. swollen ankle this morning. Mark said I'm a princess... a princess and a pea. If something's going to hurt someone it'll hurt me. Haha.

Ms. Pea at your service.. ugh. No working out today! :(

Took kids to the park yesterday, Logan was grouchy AGAIN. Why? He's 2. Lily, on the other hand, hasn't been in the corner (time out) in WEEKS! So one gets naughty the other gets good, I guess that's how it'll be forever.

Speaking of children... Logan, who doesn't talk much.. knows his letters. I'm kind of shocked. But, that's good!

Mark has tomorrow off! And.. AND he gets a whole week off starting on Sunday! The plan is to take all three kids up to his mom's house and leave them there, and go do.. who knows what! I'm excited!

Alright, coffee time! Buh-bye!

Monday, August 15, 2011

Alrighty, well did the Kinect Your Shape thing for half an hour. Says I burned 66 calories... seriously? That's it? Oh well, kids were getting in my way so I'll do more later. It's kind of fun although I'd rather go running. Can't with the kiddos though, maybe when Mark gets home. :)

--Edit--

Ok did another half hour on higher stuff, got to almost 200 calories but feel exhausted, which is what I was going for. :-) More tomorrow!

Goals for Today

To Do:

1. Exercise
2. Take Iron Pill (gag gag gag gag puke gag)
3. Go to MATC meeting about SCHOOL! woohoo!

The end.

Seems do-able!

--Edit--

1. Done
2. Done
3. Was cancelled.. Booo! Oh well, going to Dream Park with kiddos and Mandy and her kiddos later instead!

School Shopping!

Went shopping for Lily today! Got her a bunch of new clothes! It's been over a year since I went on a spree like that for her, she hasn't grown much and was still able to fit in her 3T stuff, but now it's all dingy after such a long time wearing it, and so she's not upgraded! I hope she likes it all! So exciting! School starts in three weeks!!!

Saturday

It's a beautiful rainy day today and I got to sleep until NINE! :-)

Now I'm sitting on the couch, freshly showered, watching Ally McBeal and waiting for the coffee maker to finish making me a cup of coffee, what could be better? Well, I suppose if Mark was home, but he'll be home later and has tomorrow off! First time in FOREVER! Oh, and my teeth are feeling good enough, I just MAY be able to have some toast! :-)

Anyway, that's it from the stormy midwest.

So yesterday I woke up with SO much energy!

I did laundry, cleaned the laundry room, organized the cabinets in there too. Refolded all of the linens, cleaned the kitchen, reorganized a bookcase in the office, cleaned out the hall closet, vacuumed and dusted, dumped the dead plants from the balcony, swept the balcony and washed the posts out there.

Then my mom comes over and tells me it's messy. Yes I didn't get around to the kids toys yet.. pardon me they were playing with them and yes the coffee table had been moved so the kids could play kinect... bah whatever. Still a good feeling.

Today however, no energy to speak of. Kids are going to Dustin's house tonight and going camping. I did do a few loads of laundry and am sorting through to separate school clothes from play clothes. (something I swore I would never do with my kids.. but its' come to that. Good clothes for school, older dingier clothes for home.. bah) That's about all I have accomplished today.

Logan in obsessed with his potty. Has been sitting there on and off all day. Pretty cute. I'd post a picture but... well he's entitled to his privacy.

Looking forward to a fabulous weekend with my Mark! He may actually get Sunday OFF!! OMG! :)

Adios!

Farm!

Took the kids to the farm today. They had a blast.

Coffee Please

Couldn't sleep last night, too much going through my head and I was being stubborn about taking pain killers. Didn't help that we had a wrestle fight before bed and I think i hurt my gum or something.... all of a sudden had a mouth full of blood. I always get hurt when we horse around! I bruised my arm too. Anyway, finally gave in at 3 am. Still didn't fall asleep. :(

Seriously though, I ALWAYS get hurt! When we first got together I was helping Mark move and we had to drop off his old bed, so I'm helping him pull the box spring out of the trailer and it crashed down on my knee... bruised bone. 2 months of physical therapy. Then, went to a water park and he flipped me out of the inner-tube in the wave pool... little did he know we had drifted back to about 2 feet of water. One CAT scan later... concussion, spent hours in the hospital. Although he was fabulous and laid in the hospital bed with me. :-) There's been many other bumps and bruises too. We joke that when I was with the abusive husband I never got as badly hurt as I do now. (not that funny but.. it seems true lol)

Anyway...

Logan woke up at six thirty. He had requested his bar be put back on his bed, must not have liked falling out. That's fine by me, I know he can do it now, so once I get the adapter thing he'll be good to go. Brought the kids in my bed for a couple of minutes, like I'd really get more sleep. ha. Logan learned a new word "Fan" or "faa" as he says. He climbed in and out and in and out and in and out of the bed and would go look out the window at the "caas" cars on the road. "ooooh!" when a firetruck went by followed by an ambulance, WITH their lights on! Such excitement!

Now I'm sitting at the table drinking my coffee, kids are watching some cartoonies. Recall elections were last night. Democrats needed 3 seats to flip the senate and stop Scott Walker, only got 2. :( Oh well. At least it'll be closer to even now? I dunno I'm sure there's a bright side. Worst governor ever. Cutting 9 billion from schools so he can give more tax breaks to big companies. Way to go buddy.

Bah, gotta get out of this grouchy mood. Mark will be home soon! Today is supposed to be his day off, but he had to go in and do something. Poor guy doesn't get a break.

Lunch

Went to the library with the kiddos. Got some books and movies. Kids were excited to get a new Max and Ruby DVD for in the van this week. (such thrills..) Then went to the grocery store.

Logan was a little grouchy when we got home. 2 year olds are funny. He saw the bubbles on the counter and pointed. "BUBBAS!" "Bubbles, yes but we're not going to do that right now." "BUBBAS!!!" "Not right now Buddy." "BUBBAS!!" "Logan wants Bubbles?" "UH-HUH!!" "Yes you can but not right now." "BUBBAAAASSSS!!" more pointing and crying and more crying and more pointing and then he just gets up and walks away and comes back with a puzzle. "Mama?" "Yes you can do the puzzle." "Mama!" He says and goes and sits and does his puzzle. Silly baby.

Kids are eating now, funny how they eat their fruit before their sandwiches, not how I was when I was a kid.

Happy Lunch!
Good Morning!

So, last night was a 1st. Took Logan's rail off of his crib and converted it into a toddler bed. He was THRILLED!! Every night, after we brush teeth and say "nigh-nigh" to Mark and Lily, Logan and I go into his room and he tries to climb into Lily's bed to snuggle and read a book. Well, Lily doesn't like this, so I made a cozy reading spot on the floor with pillows and stuffed animals. WELL, last night I took him into his room and looked at his crib and thought, 'Maybe this could work...' So I took the rail off and he was THRILLED!! We snuggled into his bed and read a book! (And for those of you who know his speaking thing, he TALKED! Said Owl and Deer!) So I sang baa-baa black sheep (for the 10000000000000th time) and kissed him goodnight and shut the door. I stood in the hallway for a while, fully expecting his little head to poke out, but no. About an hour later I heard him crying and went in and he had dropped his sippy cup. No biggie. A few hours after that more crying, I got out of bed and went in and he was on the floor, fallen out of bed. No biggie again, I had thought ahead and put a minefield of pillows on the ground just incase. Well, he fell out 2 more times, but went right back to bed. I have a solution for that, but it's at his Dad's house and will have to wait until the weekend. (a railing that's low and doesn't go all the way across). I'm so proud of him! I had put a baby gate up in the hallway so if he did get out of bed he could come into our room but not go into the rest of the house, and Lily could still get to the bathroom. Babbling.. anyway.. PROUD mama! When he woke up he just said "MAMA!! MAMA!!" in his bed like he used to!

Happy Mommy!

Then came this morning... let's just say that waving a syrup plate around over carpet.. Mommy unhappy. Mommy got the carpet cleaner out before 7am. That's just not right!

AND, since I'm in the babbly mood. I know why I'm meant to be with Mark. Because when we get into an argument and in my fog of anger I think about breaking up or not being with him then my mind goes to being alone, then finding someone else, then I realize that I'd want someone EXACTLY like him, flaws and all... and well.. it's meant to be. I love him flaws and all. (not like he has that many) and I like that.

OH!! And before I go. Today is WI recall elections. None in my area so I can't vote, but I contributed to the cause. First step in getting rid of Scott Walker! Not taking away any more rights thank you. VOTE!

Alright, that's all for now. Anyway....

Kids..

Kids are so funny. I was in the shower and left the door open so the kids could come and request things, cuz that's what kids do. So usually for the first few minutes they play peek a boo with the curtain, then they start opening and closing the door, then someone's fingers get pinched and there's a meltdown, but a few sprays of water distracts them. Then they disappear about the time I'm ready to get out. So i get out and they open the door a few more times to "check on me". Then I hear them talking to each other, trying to be quiet but saying "SHHHH, LET'S HIDE ON MOMMY!! LET'S GO IN THE CLOSET, SHE'LL NEVER FIND US!!" But i take too long so they peek back in to check on me again. Then more LOUD whispering, then I open the door and they arn't ready so I have to go back in and wait until I hear "WE'RE HIDING!" To go out and pretend to be VERY surprised when they're both in the closet! <3

Drama!!

So 2 years ago my SS# got stolen, been dealing with it ever since. Just had a HUGE scare that it happened AGAIN. Called up Equifax, spoke to some guy in india... blah blah blah 20 dollars later I got to view my credit report and it was all fine.. WHEW!! 20 dollars is well worth the peace of mind it brings. :)

Back to regularly scheduled programing.. that is... nap time.

:)

Good Morning

Up at the crack of dawn this morning. Logan calling "Mama? MAMA? MAAAAAMAAAAAAAAA?" Dragged myself out of bed and picked him up, of course his diaper was soaking wet and in my search for a diaper I woke up Miss Lily Pants. Wide awake, big smile. "Dood Mornin'" she said. " I wanna watch Tartoons!" Ok, tartoons it is. Sat on the couch with Mr. Logan cuddled into me and then got them a very healthy breakfast of Kix Cereal and milk and apples. Oh how I wish I could eat cereal or an apple.... My teeth, or lack of teeth. Holes where teeth were are killing me. I'm trying to not take the codeine anymore, and have been surviving on ibuprofen. Every time I eat I am worried i will hurt myself though, and every time I swallow it still tastes like blood. YUCK!!

Lily's upset because I've let my plants go for the year. No one watered them last week when I was in bed and I'm not ambitious enough to try to nurse them back to health.

Plan for today? Um, laundry, empty the dishwasher, hang out with the squidos. Be lazy. :)

May be adventurous and try to have a cup of lukewarm coffee. :-)

Wisdomless

About to start a new school year. My daughter is starting 4k in a few weeks and i'm not ready! That and, I have made choice to go back to school myself. I have a meeting at the college next week am not sure, probably won't get in this semester but we shall see. I'm excited! It does mean putting the kids in daycare though, but also know that I would rather do it sooner rather than later. Feeling really proud of myself though, super motivated right now.

Wisdomless... yes. Had the wisdom teeth removed on Thursday. What an awful experience! Swallowing blood ever since. Am so hungry too, want to eat a huge cheeseburger but can only eat mush. Yuck. Been living on instant breakfast, jello, pudding and juice. Blah. Am also upset because the boyfriend left a huge mess in the kitchen for me to clean up. Oh well, so is life with a man. Love him anyway.

Till later- Kate

BEACH!

SO excited. Woke up in such a great mood. Mark took us to Devil's Lake to go swimming, of course my camera battery decided to not work, but we had a lovely day swimming, splashing and laughing. Logan would walk into the water up to his neck (with us right by him of course) and he loved it when Mark would throw him up and splash him down. There was a train that went by and he waved and said Choo choo! :) Lily is a water bug, swim swim swim swim. Does not like getting dunked though, wouldn't speak to Mark for a while after he had the nerve to get her face wet. Ice cream solves all. Wonderful day with a wonderful man. <3

Mark took us to the Dells. <3 First to show my aunt a good time, second to get my mother out of her house. He told her he had a day planned and she wouldn't know what it was, lunch and other activities. We went on the Wisconsin Ducks. (vehicles that drive on land and can go into the water too) I've never been on them before, fun! The driver made lots of bad jokes. :)

Then he bought us fudge and candy at a candy shop. Found out later he had got me Harry Potter Every Flavor Jelly beans (we had just gone to see the last Harry Potter Movie). Annie was brave and tried a bunch in the car. Soap is the worst EVER! Blech! Lily tried a bunch too. Vomit was her least favorite.

Lunch/Dinner was at the Moose Jaw. Logan was getting tired by that time and had enough. Still good food, good company, good day!

NEW BLOG!

Wow, exciting.

I dunno why I'm doing this. Been feeling bored lately, and I used to have a livejournal that I looked at recently. So many memories and I suck at writing in a journal, so here it goes.

Facebook status messages aren't long enough for my rambling.

Anyway...

:)
